July 5th
Today was just a day for chilling! Heather went with my Mom and my Aunt Cori to the outlet malls here in Park City while my brothers and I spent most of the morning playing video games. For lunch, my Dad decided to treat all of us to a lovely litlle Mexican place in town. Afterwards, we went and visited a friend who works at OC Tanner in Park City. All in all, it was a very lazy day, ending in an evening of fun and games with all the family here.
4th of July
Our 4th of July weekend didn't start off very well. August spent the night at our house Thursday night, and didn't go to bed untill around midnight. That was ok, because I was getting things packed for our trip. The bad part was... she woke up at 4:30am and would not go back to sleep!!! She wanted to go to the parade and see the horses and get candy.
We finally got up around 6:00am, watched Cars, had breakfast, and got ready to go see the Clearfield parade.
Nick was the lucky one, he was sitting under Garrett & Jan's canopy at the parade. August and I standing in the street, with about 300 other kids trying to get CANDY!!! It is very frustrating when the older kids don't let the young ones get any candy.
After the parade, we decided to go and see Sky at work. As soon as August was buckled into her car seat, she fell asleep. Nick and I were not so lucky. We dropped her off at home, and went to the Clearfield 4th of July booths, where Nick found a pair of soft air pistols, and I got an IPod speaker pal. I am so excited to use it at work.
We filled up our tummys at Applebees, our favorite restuarnt, and then went to meet Nick's parents in Park City. The best thing on our trip up was to watch the temperature drop on our way up Parley's canyon.
There was a 20 degree difference between Clearfield and Park City. It has been beautiul up here. Nick went to the Alpine Slide and the Alpine Coaster with his Father & Brothers. He didn't enjoy it at all. Ok, he did I just like to say he didn't.
The Fireworks display was amazing, after it finally got started. The wind would start blowing, and then it started to rain. But in the end, we had a great time with a great view. This year we were smart and brought chairs so we didn't have to sit on the sidewalk. And to prove how much fun we were having, see the picture below of Nick and his mother Kathi.
